Lauren Engel is a Los Angeles-based videographer and photographer with over a decade of experience. Her work has been featured in major publications such as Dwell, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Variety Magazine, and Yahoo. Growing up in Hong Kong, she developed an interest in capturing architectural and interior environments being surrounded by neomodern environments and futuristic forms, and now focuses her expertise in that genre. 

Currently, her work takes her from the Hollywood Hills to the smart homes in Venice within Los Angeles.  She has lived in other major cities, as well, such as Sydney, New York, and Boston, and applies this exposure to different cultures in her work by distinctly understanding a place’s locality and surrounding context. Before capturing the built environment, Engel started out in fashion photography, which landed her work in Vogue France, Harper’s Bazaar Australia, and GQ Paris.

She also has a background in digital marketing and uses this to better understand client’s branding, scope of marketing projects, and assist in growth. She has wide ranging experience at major companies, which includes managing Disney’s app, spearheading marketing and SEO campaigns for Hulu, National Geographic, and the Oscars, leading organic traffic for HYPEBEAST while collaborating on an international scale, and analyzing digital campaign impressions for multiple proposals at Comcast NBCUniversal. This learned experience helps her to better understand how to leverage client’s brand and personality when understanding how they wish to be portrayed through these initiatives 

Engel holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and International Affairs from Northeastern University in Boston. She is a global citizen and of mixed race, identifying as half Chinese and half American, and lived in Hong Kong for over 20 years before moving to the U.S. 

Her most memorable project to date was in Hong Kong for Beats by Dre where she worked with  Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre. Other notable clients include Puma, Adidas, and Loewe.
